Pet Rehabilitation Services

Pets that need to lose weight or are recovering from a surgery or injury can often benefit from veterinary physical therapy and other types of rehabilitation. Over a series of sessions customized to your companion’s needs, we can help it feel as strong and healthy as before. Your pet’s rehabilitation may include one or more of the following:

Underwater Treadmill

An underwater treadmill can provide low impact exercise to help your pet get back on its feet. The water relieves some weight and stress from weakened and healing legs, hips, and other areas of the body. Meanwhile, warm water helps your pet relax, eases pain, and increases blood flow to encourage a faster recovery.

MLS Laser Therapy

MLS Laser Therapy is an  innovative therapy option for all pets. This non-invasive treatment is painless and most patients see positive results in one to three treatments. This therapy has many benefits such as pain relief, decreased inflammation, stimulated healing of damaged tissues and can help speed recovery after things such as surgeries and injuries.

TENS Unit

A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) unit is an innovative approach to pain relief. This battery-operated device delivers small electrical impulses to a pet’s skin, disrupting pain signals to the brain, resulting in less pain for your pet. Most pet owners opt for this form of therapy after an injury or following orthopedic surgery.

Massage Therapy

Also known as soft tissue manipulation, massage therapy is a valuable means of helping pets recover. By implementing certain types of massage techniques, we can provide relief from pain, reduce tension, and help sedate the nervous system. Massage can also help improve mobility, lymphatic flow and circulation.

Therapeutic Exercise and Manual Therapy

For pets that are overweight or have undergone surgery, the period of inactivity can stunt their healing. They may struggle with muscle atrophy, development of scar tissue and lingering pain that may prevent them from enjoying all the activities that they love. We can offer tailored exercises that can help increase strength, flexibility and improve your pet’s overall quality of life.

Hot and Cold Therapy

Our team can apply heat or cold to a particular area of concern that can result in decreased swelling, pain control and muscle relaxation.

Physical Rehabilitation

When pets are overweight or have recently undergone surgery, the period of inactivity can stunt their healing. They may struggle with muscle atrophy, built-up scar tissue, and lingering pain that may prevent them from enjoying the activities and games they previously loved. Physical rehabilitation exists to counteract this effect. It relieves pain, encourages faster recovery, and reduces the risk of a second injury.

Advanced Orthopedics

Our veterinarians have a special interest and are very experienced in some of the most advanced orthopedic procedures for pets. The procedures are paired with the best pain management that veterinary medicine can offer, so we can promise they will remain as comfortable as possible throughout the process. We can help with a range of issues, including:
